Blizzard is already testing players’ interest in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic

Prior to the launch of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Blizzard sends out questionnaires to a sample of World of Warcraft players to gauge their interest in Cataclysm Classic. There is now a poll asking Classic edition players whether they are interested in coming back to World of Warcraft to check out the new Cataclysm content. Surveys were sent out just before the Classic version of Wrath of the Lich King was released for World of Warcraft users.

After Burning Crusade's massive popularity, World of Warcraft Classic was updated to include the subsequent expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. The fate of Cataclysm Classic, however, remains uncertain at this time.

WoW Classic: Almost certainly - Cataclysm Classic is also on the way! - Aroged

Blizzard recently polled players to see how they felt about World of Warcraft Classic taking this route.

The poll focuses on World of Warcraft Classic and its role in the game's lore, especially as it pertains to the Cataclysm expansion, after a few introduction questions. A rundown of the new features included by the expansion is offered, and players are invited to provide their opinions on what they liked and disliked about the original Cataclysm, as well as what they'd want to see ported over to World of Warcraft Classic. Finally, it inquires as to whether or not players would welcome a return to Cataclysm Classic, either as-is or with some modifications.

The future of Classic has always been up to the players, according to World of Warcraft's game director Ion Hazzikostas and other WoW developers. World of Warcraft Classic was developed in response to player demand, and that demand will continue to shape the game going forward. Despite having the means to regularly add new content, World of Warcraft Classic instead concentrates on the game's most cherished eras.

Because of this, the future of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic is unclear. Cataclysm's not as well-remembered as its predecessors, most notably Wrath of the Lich King, despite its substantial innovations, including as the Transmogrification system and the revamp of the Azeroth realm. Cataclysm was a watershed moment in the history of World of Warcraft, paving the door for even more groundbreaking content patches in the future.

Many fans of the series feel that Cataclysm deserves the Classic treatment despite the fact that it does not have the same sentimental value as the first Warcraft. Among the franchise's expansion packs, Cataclysm has the lowest Metacritic score, at 90. No of how they feel about the poll, World of Warcraft Classic players should still share their thoughts on Cataclysm. Blizzard will use this criticism to direct their continued throwback design. Any regular computer can run World of Warcraft. To rephrase, you may start playing Wrath of the Lich King Classic on September 26.
